Start of Coke Studio with accusation of Copying melody of Singer From Umerkot



New Season of Coke Studio:

Coke Studio started with bang.The song "Tu Jhoom," which features Naseebo Lal and Abida Parveen, has become a hit with both casual and die-hard fans of the program. On YouTube, the song has over six million views! However, there is speculation that the renowned music producer Xulfi's composition is not his own.

The tune for "Tu Jhoom," according to Nirmala Maghani, a teenage singer from Umerkot, Tharparkar, comes from a sample she submitted to Xulfi in June of last year. The teenage singer attempted to contact Xulfi (via WhatsApp) for a spot on season 14 of Coke Studio but received no response.

What Nirmala Wants:
All Maghani wants is credit for her contribution and an acknowledgement from the Coke Studio composer, she says. Yousaf Salahuddin (Mian Salli), Nirmala's mentor, backs her claim and says legal action should be done.

It remains to be seen, who is in the right. Check out “Tu Jhoom” and Nirmala’s sample side-by-side.
